And just like that, a switch has flipped in Aragon’s wee brain and she’s officially a Little Weaner now. Look at our girl go! This leaves just one unattended food bowl at the table, but as you can clearly see and hear in this video, Boleyn is showing no signs of caving in to peer pressure anytime soon. We have just two food-related rules here at Kitten Smitten: 1) As long as they’re not chewing on the nipple, everyone gets a baba for as long as they want it; and 2) No one takes a baba with them to college. Boleyn will wean when she’s ready, and not a moment sooner. I can tell she’s made a strong connection between my hands and her food, and the power of touch is really important to her. She will tentatively lick a little food from my fingers if I stroke her back or plant tiny kisses on the top of her head. So far that progress hasn’t translated to the bowl, but when she’s ready, I will happily sit on the floor with her and hold her hair back while she nibbles like a big girl.
