I call this shot "Chanelling Jojo". We lost Jo - my gorgeous Bastet incarnate - in 2015 to cancer. He was one of those cats with a huge presence & big personality. Everyone knew him & loved him. Countless people would come to visit and remark, "I don't like cats, but I love Jojo!" He was special. I always felt blessed he chose me that day I went in to adopt his "sister". He was very insistent that I notice him! Jo always got his way.
We rescued Zoe (literally, from the top of the MS River bridge) as a kitten in 2017 so she never met Jo but she loves to get up on this table, regardless what she knocks down in the process, and sit just behind his photo. Though she's smaller and their faces are different they, otherwise, look very similar - they're both beautiful house panthers - and I had been trying for awhile to catch a photo. She had, in that way that cats have, always turned away right before I'd get the perfect shot. Then, one day, I got this one. It's one of my favorites.
