Today was so jam packed I felt like I was never going to stop running around from vet to pet store to foster to different vet to a different foster to a different pet store to a different vet then to meet a different foster then back to the first vet and then...you get the idea. Running in circles today.
Last vet appointment was Magenta and Fuchsia with Dr Anja at Blue pearl.
Fuchsia checked out totally good! She has a nystagmus (means her eyes dart back and forth) but this isn’t anything to worry about and she has scarring from the ulcers she had as a baby but she’s cleared for adoption. They just loved her.
Magenta, as we knew, had some issues. She may not be fully blind yet, she *may* see some shadows occasionally but it’s super questionable. She bumps into things and really can’t see. She’s light sensitive but even that may go away in time as she’s gone blind in the past 4 months she’s been with an adopter. She has a cataract in one eye and scarring in the other from a severe ulcer as a baby but she doesn’t see anything that would cause full blindness like this. She said magenta just needs someone to love her and accept her as a blind kitty. Her history as a baby coming from that house of horrors hoarding situation is probably what did it to her. Her suspicion is a nutrition deficiency in the developmental stage not getting enough taurine. But we can’t confirm or deny anything at this point. It just is what it is. We ruled out all systemic causes and scary ocular causes like a tumor. It just is what it is!
So now fuchsia and magenta are looking for their real forever home, TOGETHER! Located in Sarasota, Florida. Adoption fee is $80 together which includes spay, testing for felv/fiv, fvrcp vaccines, rabies vaccine, microchip, deworming, and current on flea preventative
Right now we are in dire need of help with our funds for vet bills. We have had a lot of big surgeries lately and still have a lot coming up along with the regular vetting, spay neuters, shots, meds, etc along with the specialty vet visits and rehab for Genevieve. Even just $1 will add up if everyonewho sees our post donated.
