Instagram takeover by Hooman (Day 5)
Things are looking up slightly, although, as per the pattern of the last few days, good news is mixed with bad.
The ulcers are in his eyes are being treated by the antibiotics he’s already on. He’s also getting eyedrops.
His red blood cell count dropped slightly due to dilution from the hydrating drip, but is hovering around 19-20%, which Dr Mark is satisfied with. His baby red blood cells are still not regenerating though.
He’s eating well, and being described as “talkative”, but a bit emo when he’s put on the cone, and he seriously hates the catheter on his left leg.
He’s been charming the staff; Dr Mark said he’s really sweet, and one staff even wanted to adopt him thinking he’s a rescue case. 😅
Best part is that he can be monitored at home already! Conversation with him earlier went like this:
Me: Yoshi, do you want to go home?
Me (in stern tone): If you go home, you must let me put eye drops for you, ok?
Me: And you have to eat all your medicine
Me: And NOT rub your eyes, ok?
I took it to mean he agreed to all the terms.
Another ultrasound was done today, and free fluid was noted again in his stomach. Results for the first batch drawn out last Friday night raised concerns over an infection OR possibly, FIP.
When I Googled that term, I was crushed, especially when I noted the statistics. I’m trying not to think too much before the test results are out later this week. Dr Mark also said that the signs don’t follow the literature so far. *Cross fingers, toes and everything I can*
Yoshi, you’re still so young. We are meant to grow old together, right?
