Y'know that feeling when you start the tempo and realize about 200m in that your left shoe is loose, your necklace isn't tucked in, and your headband is slightly sideways on your head? Yup, that was me this morning.
Did a ~4 mile (6400m) tempo on the track in 26:41 (6:47/6:39/6:39/6:36). (and no, I didn't stop and fix my shoe/necklace/headband). Effort was right; paces were about what I was doing for marathon effort workouts a few months ago, but that's normal for me when coming back. If I'm good about sticking to tempo effort and not forcing the pace, my fitness comes back pretty quickly.
Felt really good to retie my shoe and fix all the other stuff after.
