What a week, folks!!
I went right from one tech to another and then onto an airplane to get our little buddy, Champ, to his forever home! He was perfectly behaved and calm during the while flight to Oregon, more than I can say for myself. We have been pen paling with his new parents for a few weeks now and very quickly we figured out that it would be cheaper and less traumatic than shipping him so we went splitsville on tickets (plus Brian and I have been wanting to see Portland).
His new mom and dad are a retired teacher and civil servant respectively, experienced #cat parents and made us feel so incredibly welcome in their home (We're making plans to go back in the future)! They greeted us with brunch and right away we knew that this cat was going to be staying with some really special people... It made leaving him MUCH easier.
Almost right away, Champ was feeling comfortable enough to be out in the open in his new home and he was purring up a storm/begging for face rubs. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to be part of Champ's story and to make two new forever friends in the Pacific North West, heck, they're basically our adopted grandparents now and were giving us lots of wedding advice over brunch!
My heart is overflowing. ♡
